Taste of Bethesda brings 50 food vendors to one downtown street festival
Downtown Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle is set to become an outdoor tasting destination Saturday, October 3, as the 34th annual Taste of Bethesda brings 50 food vendors to the neighborhood for five hours of small-portion sampling.
The free-admission festival is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving visitors a chance to try food from Bethesda-area restaurants and food businesses while also taking in live entertainment and children’s activities.
Food is at the center of the annual event, which is organized by Bethesda Urban Partnership. This year’s Taste of Bethesda will feature 50 food vendors, with participating businesses serving tasting-size portions rather than requiring visitors to purchase full restaurant meals.
The format gives visitors a way to sample dishes from across the downtown dining scene in one afternoon. Bethesda Urban Partnership describes Bethesda restaurants as participants, while the official roster includes a mix of restaurants, bakeries, and beverage businesses.
Because servings are purchased individually with tasting tickets, visitors can decide how many items they want to try and move among participating vendors throughout the festival. The setup is designed around smaller food purchases, with each serving requiring between one and four tickets.
How the tasting tickets work

Admission to Taste of Bethesda is free, but food must be purchased with the festival’s tasting tickets.
Tickets will be sold on-site in bundles of five for $10. Individual servings will cost from one to four tickets, which works out to approximately $2 to $8 per serving based on the official ticket price.
Visitors planning to sample food should pay attention to one important deadline: ticket sales will stop at 3:30 p.m. Restaurants are scheduled to continue serving until 4 p.m., so anyone arriving later in the afternoon will need to purchase tickets before the sales cutoff.
That means visitors do not need a paid admission ticket to enter the festival, but they will need tasting tickets for food purchases. Buying a five-ticket bundle provides the basic currency used at participating food vendors during the event.
Where and when
Taste of Bethesda is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival will take place in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle, spreading across Norfolk, St. Elmo, Cordell, Del Ray, and Auburn avenues.
The street-festival setting will bring participating food businesses together within the downtown district for the afternoon. This year marks the 34th annual Taste of Bethesda, with Bethesda Urban Partnership serving as the organizer.
While food sampling is the main focus, the festival will also include entertainment and family activities.
Four live-entertainment stages are planned during the event. Children’s activities will also be available, including arts and crafts reported as part of this year’s program.
Those additions give visitors activities between food stops while keeping the tasting format at the center of the festival.

The local restaurant lineup
Several businesses are identified as first-time downtown Bethesda participants this year. Ooh La La Bakery, Rosetta Bakery, Sweeteria and The Food Market are among the newcomers listed for the 2026 festival.
The official restaurant roster also includes established participating businesses such as Agora, Benihana, Georgetown Cupcake, Mon Ami Gabi, Q by Peter Chang, Ramen MENRI and World of Beer.
Together, the listed participants reflect the mix of restaurants, bakeries and beverage businesses represented at Taste of Bethesda. Rather than centering the event on a single type of food or restaurant, the tasting format allows visitors to make their own selections from vendors participating throughout the festival area.
For Bethesda-area readers, the event offers a same-day opportunity to sample food from across the downtown dining district without paying an admission charge. The individual-ticket system also means visitors can choose servings separately instead of committing to a set tasting package.
Taste of Bethesda is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Woodmont Triangle, with free admission and tasting tickets available on-site. Visitors who plan to purchase food should remember that ticket sales end at 3:30 p.m., even though restaurant service is scheduled to continue until 4 p.m.
