- Cinnamon sticks
- Whole cloves
- Allspice berries
- Brown sugar or honey
- Water
Wash and chop the apples into small pieces.
Place the chopped apples in a large pot and cover with water.
Add cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and allspice berries to the pot.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 30-45 minutes.
Once the apples are soft, use a potato masher or immersion blender to mash them and release their juices.
Let the mixture simmer for another 30 minutes.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove any solids.
Stir in brown sugar or honey to taste.
