- 2 to 3 pound chuck roast
- 1/4 cup taco seasoning or 1 package of taco seasoning
- 1 10- ounce can diced tomatoes with green chilis
- 1/4 cup water
Taco Seasoning Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon American Chili Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Ground Cumin
- 2 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Onion Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1 Teaspoon Oregano
- ½ Teaspoon Cracked Black Pepper
- ¼ Teaspoon Salt
Mix taco seasoning ingredients together.
Place the chuck roast in the bowl of the slow cooker.
Top the roast with the taco seasoning, then add the diced tomatoes and green chilis to the bowl.
Pour the water around the roast.
Place the lid on the slow cooker and set to cook on low for 8 hours or high for 5 to 6 hours.
When the meat is cooked through, remove it from the pan and shred it with a fork. Return the shredded meat to the pan and stir it into the sauce. Replace the lid and continue cooking for 10 to 15 minutes, until the meat is warmed and soaked into the sauce.
Serve on tacos, nachos, or burritos.
