Popeyes’ Cajun-Style Turkey Is Back for Thanksgiving: How to Order One
Thanksgiving dinner can start with a Popeyes order, but it still needs a spot on your kitchen calendar. The chain’s Cajun-style turkey is back for 2026, with ordering opening October 19 and pickup for digital preorders beginning October 23. It arrives fully cooked and frozen, so the seasoning is handled, but you’re responsible for thawing and reheating.
For hosts hoping to simplify the main event, that distinction matters. This is a turkey you prepare before serving, not a hot dinner you pick up on the way home. Before building your holiday menu around it, check the price, pickup options, and preparation schedule.
Start by Checking Your Local Restaurant

You can preorder through the Popeyes app or website by selecting a participating restaurant. Check whether the turkey is available, choose a pickup date, and review the location before completing your purchase.
Participation varies, so the nearest Popeyes may not offer digital turkey ordering. Prefer to arrange things in person? Participating restaurants may offer walk-in purchases or reservations, depending on their stock.
Popeyes says customers pay for in-restaurant reservations when they pick up their turkey, so contact the location to learn what it offers before you go.

Order before the November Deadline gets Confusing
The practical advice is straightforward: complete digital ordering before November 19. Popeyes’ FAQ initially describes an October 19 through November 19 ordering period, but another answer says new digital preorders close beginning November 19.
That wording does not establish an exact closing time. POPEYES LOUISIANA KITCHEN INC. Avoid treating November 19 as a guaranteed final shopping day. Previously scheduled pickups can happen after digital ordering closes, as long as you placed the order beforehand and selected that pickup date.
If you miss digital ordering, contact a participating restaurant about remaining stock rather than assuming all ordering options have ended.
Check the Actual Price before budgeting
Current food-news reporting lists a suggested starting restaurant price of $59.99. However, Popeyes does not guarantee that amount nationwide and says pricing varies by restaurant and purchase method.
Use the quote from your selected location when deciding whether the turkey fits your holiday budget. Also remember what that purchase covers. Popeyes explicitly says sides are not included, so the turkey does not arrive as a complete Thanksgiving spread.
Leave room in your spending plan for the other dishes you intend to serve, whether you make them yourself or purchase them separately.
Plan for Pickup Instead of Delivery.
Popeyes won’t offer Cajun-Style Turkey shipping or delivery in 2026. Restaurant, app, and website purchases are for pickup at the restaurant. That makes your selected location and collection date part of the dinner plan, especially if someone else will help with holiday errands.
On your scheduled day, sign in and open Upcoming Orders in the app or website. At the restaurant, follow the two pickup confirmation prompts and show the collection confirmation to staff. Review your order details and the restaurant’s hours before you leave so you arrive at the right place.
Choose carefully before paying. Popeyes says turkey orders cannot be canceled, and the ordering system cannot change a selected pickup window. Contact the restaurant promptly if a problem arises or you need to discuss alternate arrangements.
Grocery Stores Offer Another Shopping Route.
Participating Kroger-family stores will also carry the turkey in select markets across 33 states. Popeyes names Dillons, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, Fry’s, King Soopers, QFC, Roundy’s and Smith’s among the participating banners.
That list does not mean every branch has one waiting in its freezer. The company expects grocery prices between $59.99 and $69.99, depending on the grocery division.
Those figures are expected ranges, not guaranteed shelf prices. Call your store to confirm availability and price before adding a separate stop to your shopping list.
Match the Bird to Your Guest List
The marinated, Cajun-seasoned turkey weighs approximately 11 to 13 pounds. Popeyes estimates it serves 8 to 12 people with sides, though portions and appetites will affect the final count.
Treat that as planning guidance rather than a promise about every gathering. If your guests enjoy generous servings or you want leftovers, plan accordingly.
The useful question is whether the bird suits your particular table. Decide what else you will serve before relying on the highest serving estimate.
Give Thawing and Reheating enough Time
Popeyes recommends thawing the turkey in the refrigerator for 72 hours, still sealed in its plastic packaging. Do not thaw it at room temperature. Keep the thawed turkey refrigerated at 40°F, then heat and consume it within three days after thawing.
For reheating, preheat a conventional oven to 375°F and remove all packaging, reserving the juices. Put the turkey on a rack in a large roasting pan, add the juices to the pan, and seal tightly with foil. Heat on the lower oven rack for 1½ hours.
Remove the foil and cook uncovered for another 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F, following Popeyes’ product-specific instructions. Check the thickest breast meat without touching bone and several exterior points with a meat thermometer. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving, and follow the instructions that came with your purchase.
