Aldi Is Launching Its First Fresh Ready-Made Meals, Starting Under $8
Dinner is about to get a little easier for ALDI shoppers.
The discount grocer is launching its first-ever collection of fresh ready-made meals, giving shoppers another option for those nights when cooking feels like one task too many. The lineup starts rolling into select stores in early October 2026, with single-serve meals priced under $8 and larger family-size options under $15.
Unlike frozen dinners, ALDI says the new meals are delivered fresh and never frozen. They come in heat-and-eat trays for quick lunches, weeknight dinners, or those moments when takeout sounds tempting but the price doesn’t.
Seven New Meals Are Coming First

ALDI is starting the collection with seven meals. Five are individual servings, and two are larger options for families.
The single-serve lineup includes:
- Beef Bolognese Spaghetti: Single-serve option featuring protein and classic pasta sauce.
- Beef Brisket with White Mac & Cheese: Single-serve option pairing smoked brisket with creamy pasta.
- Butter Chicken & Rice: Single-serve dish featuring balanced aromatic spices.
- Chicken Burrito Bowl: Single-serve Southwestern-inspired meal.
- Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo: Single-serve pasta made with whole-muscle chicken breast.
Each single-serve meal will cost less than $8.
For shoppers feeding more than one person, ALDI is also introducing Chicken and Bacon Mac n’ Cheese and Meat Lovers Pizza Bake. Both family-size options will be priced below $15.
That mix gives shoppers a little bit of everything, including pasta, barbecue-inspired comfort food, Indian-inspired flavors, Mexican-inspired bowls, and hearty casseroles.
These Meals Are Fresh, Not Frozen
One detail that separates the new collection from many traditional convenience meals is where shoppers will find it.
ALDI says the dishes are fresh and never frozen. Instead of heading toward the freezer aisle, shoppers should look in the refrigerated meals section near the front entrance of participating stores.
The company says the meals include ingredients such as chicken breast, smoked beef brisket, real cheeses, and made-from-scratch sauces.
That puts the collection closer to the refrigerated prepared-food sections that have become increasingly common at supermarkets, where shoppers can grab dinner without starting completely from scratch.
ALDI says convenience is an important reason for entering the category. Most Americans consider convenience an important factor when buying food.
Most Single-Serve Meals Heat in About Four Minutes
Anyone hoping for an easy office lunch or fast dinner should not have to spend much time waiting.
According to ALDI’s heating instructions, the Chicken Burrito Bowl and Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo take about 3.5 minutes in the microwave. Beef Bolognese Spaghetti and Beef Brisket with White Mac & Cheese take about four minutes, while Butter Chicken & Rice takes roughly 4.5 minutes. Microwave wattage can affect heating time.
ALDI instructs shoppers to heat the meals until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit, then let them stand for one minute before eating.
The Rollout Will Happen Gradually

Not every shopper will see all seven meals immediately.
The collection begins arriving at select ALDI stores in early October 2026. More markets will receive the meals throughout the fall, and ALDI expects the complete collection to be available nationwide by January 2027.
That means shoppers who don’t see the new refrigerated meals on their first October grocery trip may simply be in a market scheduled for a later rollout.
ALDI has more than 2,600 U.S. stores as it continues expanding across the country. The company describes itself as America’s fastest-growing grocer.

ALDI Says It Tested Hundreds of Recipes
The seven meals did not come together overnight.
Terry Jackson, Head of Food at Kitchen Food Company, which supplies ALDI’s ready-made meals, said the development process included testing hundreds of recipes.
Jackson said they tested hundreds of recipes as they developed the collection, with quality as their top standard from the start.
ALDI says its goal was to offer meals that provide convenience without forcing customers to pay far more than they normally expect at the discount chain.
Joan Kavanaugh, Vice President of National Buying at ALDI U.S., said customers increasingly want food that fits busy schedules without adding pressure to household budgets.
That pricing strategy could make the collection especially interesting for shoppers comparing prepared grocery-store dinners with restaurant takeout or delivery.
More Ready-Made Meals Are Already Planned
The seven launch dishes are only the beginning.
ALDI says new ready-made meals will appear as ALDI Finds every month throughout the following year.
That could make the refrigerated section another place for regular ALDI shoppers to hunt for rotating products, much like the chain’s popular limited-time grocery and household Finds.
ALDI has not announced every future meal, so shoppers will have to watch upcoming ALDI Finds releases to see which dishes join the collection.
For now, the first lineup covers plenty of familiar comfort-food territory, with pasta, chicken, brisket, rice bowls, and cheesy family meals leading the way.
And with individual dinners priced under $8, ALDI is clearly betting that busy shoppers want something sitting between cooking dinner themselves and paying restaurant prices.
