Equipment

  • Sharp knife
  • Plastic wrap
  • Small bowl
  • Large baking sheet

Ingredients

  • One package crescent roll sheet If you can't find the crescent roll sheet, you can use a can of crescent biscuits and pinch the seams together
  • ½ cup marinara sauce You can use your favorite marinara sauce or pizza sauce. I had even used spaghetti sauce when that was what I had on hand.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese I always use whole milk mozzarella cheese. However, I have also used part skim when I was watching my calories.
  • 10 pepperoni slices finely chopped - Use your favorite pepperoni, whether it's Hormel or Margarita.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface or sheet of parchment paper.
  • Spread the marinara sauce in an even layer over the top of the dough.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of the sauce.
  • Add the pepperoni to the top of the cheese.
  • Starting with the long side, roll the dough up into a long log.
  • Place the roll in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes. This will help you cut it without squishing it.
  • Then, use a sharp, serrated knife to cut the log into 10, 1-inch slices.
  • Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the crescents for 10 to 12 minutes until the dough is golden brown.
  • Serve immediately.
