Homestyle Chicken Cobbler Recipe

This homestyle recipe, with its tender chicken and buttery, golden crust, is sure to warm your heart and satisfy your belly.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/3 cup cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 stick + 1/3 cup butter divided and softened
  • 3 cups shredded chicken
  • 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 12 oz peas and carrots frozen

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350° and add 1 stick of butter to a 13”x9” baking dish. Remove when butter is melted.
  • Add the flour, cheese, baking powder, and spices to a bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add the milk, egg, and softened 1/3 cup butter in a separate container. Whisk until combined.
  • Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry while whisking it to yield a batter.
  • Add the chicken, cream of chicken soup, and vegetables to the baking dish and mix.
  • Tip: To save time, use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken from your local grocery store.
  • Top with the batter and spread to access the entire dish.
  • Bake the dish for 45 minutes, then cool for 15 minutes before serving and eating.
