Authentic Italian Stromboli Dough Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 4 cups of wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of dry yeast
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 cups of warm milk
  • 4 tablespoons of melted butter

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 small bunch of dill
  • 1 cup of parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella
  • 5 ounces of ham
  • 5 ounces of salami
  • 5 ounces of pepperoni

Instructions
 

  • Mix yeast with sugar, warm milk, and 3 tablespoons of flour in a bowl. Stir, and leave for 10 minutes.
  • Add the egg, salt, remaining flour, and melted butter.
  • Knead the dough, and add a little flour if necessary. For convenience, lubricate the hands with oil.
  • Leave the dough in a warm place for 40 minutes, and cover it with a towel.
  • Roll out the dough into a rectangular layer. Grease with melted butter mixed with crushed garlic.
  • Then sprinkle liberally with finely grated mozzarella. And spread out the ham.
  • Then spread out the salami and pepperoni and sprinkle with mozzarella again. Grease everything with a beaten egg.
  • Roll into a roll, and pinch the ends. Top it with butter mixed with parmesan and herbs. Make incisions. Put in the oven for 40 minutes at 350 degrees F.
