Healthy Taco Salad Recipe Tips

  • The taco salad recipe has changed over the years. The original version calls for raw diced onions on top of the ground beef. However, everyone seemed to prefer the onions cooked into the meat.
  • Also, originally, it did not contain salsa. Fresh diced tomatoes are to be layered on top of the onions. My family prefers salsa to fresh diced tomatoes.
  • Swap out the Mexican cheese for regular cheddar or even feta cheese if you prefer.

How to Store Leftover Weight Watchers Taco Salad

I normally leave the leftover taco salad recipe right in the pan and cover it with aluminum foil or the cover to the pan if it has one.

Can I Make the Layered Taco Salad Dip Ahead of Time

Absolutely! I like to make it the day before. I will fry up the ground beef in the morning and put the weight watchers taco salad together later in the day.
Cover it with aluminum foil or the pan cover and it’s ready to go on the day of the party.

What Can I do With Leftover Taco Salad Recipe

If I have any leftovers, which most of the time I do not unless I make a double batch, we like to put them on taco shells. They make a great lunch or after-school snack the next day.

How Many Weight Watchers Points are in the Weight Watchers Taco Salad

After putting the ingredients into the WW recipe builder, there are 12 WW Points including 13 Tostitos Scoop Chips.
If you make a taco wrap using La Banderita Carb counter whole wheat wrap or La Banderita Carb Counter soft taco flour tortilla, it has only 8 points.
