Do you love Mexican food but hate the calorie overload?
Try this healthier version of a taco salad that will still give you all the flavor you crave.
With layers of delicious ingredients, this healthy taco salad recipe is perfect for a fun and healthy meal.
The best part about this taco salad is that no one even realizes the ingredients are low-calorie except me.
I hate going to parties and blowing all my weight watchers points on food that I have no idea how to even account for.
So by making my own weight watchers taco salad and knowing exactly what I put in it and how much I can have, I still stay on plan and not have to worry that I’m eating all my weeklies in one sitting.
However, even when I’m not following the weight watchers’ plan, I still make the taco recipe the same way.
Plus, it’s easy to customize depending on your favorite flavors. Give it a try today!

How Do You Keep Bananas From Turning Brown in Pudding
Bananas turn brown when exposed to the air. Covering the bananas with whipped topping will keep them from turning brown.
A trick I learned a long time ago to keep bananas from turning brown in the pudding was to soak them in lemon juice before adding them to the pudding or pie.
However, I never was a big fan of the taste. After more research, I found that you can soak them in lemon-lime soda and the carbonation will keep the bananas from turning brown.
Plus, the lemon-lime soda does not change up the flavor.
Does Homemade Banana Pudding Need to be Refrigerated
The simple answer is yes. Since the banana pudding is made with milk, it is best to keep it refrigerated until you are ready to serve it.
Can I make the Southern Banana Pudding Ahead of Time
Yes, the pudding can be made ahead of time. However, don’t add the crushed Vanilla wafers or bananas to it until almost ready to serve. The vanilla wafers will get soggy.
Is Pudding Still Good After a Week
If you still have the banana pudding after a week, that’s a problem, lol. It doesn’t last for more than a day or two at the most in our house. However, I would get rid of it after 5 days.
Do You Serve Grandma’s Banana Pudding Hot or Cold
We normally serve this combination of pudding mixed with whipped cream, bananas, and ‘nilla wafers cold. Did you know that traditional southern banana pudding is served warm?

Healthy Taco Salad Recipe Tips
- The taco salad recipe has changed over the years. The original version calls for raw diced onions on top of the ground beef. However, everyone seemed to prefer the onions cooked into the meat.
- Also, originally, it did not contain salsa. Fresh diced tomatoes are to be layered on top of the onions. My family prefers salsa to fresh diced tomatoes.
- Swap out the Mexican cheese for regular cheddar or even feta cheese if you prefer.
How to Make a Weight Watchers Taco Salad Recipe
Start by browning your ground beef. Add your diced onion to the ground beef while frying. Cook until done.
Let cool. I usually make my ground beef the night before so that it’s cooled off completely before putting the weight watchers taco salad together.
Spread bean dip on the bottom of the 9×13 cake pan.
Mix together sour cream, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning.
Spread that on top of the bean dip evenly.
Next, layer the cooked ground beef with onion on top of that.
Spread your salsa out to the edges.
Top with shredded cheese.
Serve with Tostitos scoops, corn tortilla chips, celery sticks, or anything you like to dip.
