Starbucks has gone small with its newest fall desserts, and these tiny pies may be the easiest way to taste autumn without ordering an entire slice.

Starbucks has added three Mini Pies to its fall menu: Apple Crumble, Pecan, and Pumpkin. They launched September 29, with prices starting at $2.95 each, although prices can vary by location. The new treats arrive alongside Starbucks’ larger fall lineup, giving customers another excuse to turn an ordinary coffee run into a seasonal dessert stop.

Three Tiny Pies, Three Fall Personalities

The clever part of the lineup is that Starbucks did not simply make three versions of pumpkin pie.

The Apple Crumble Mini Pie combines tender apples with a buttery streusel topping, while the Pecan version takes a richer route with buttery filling and toasted nutty flavors. The Pumpkin Mini Pie keeps the classic autumn combination of creamy pumpkin and warm spices, with a decorative oak-leaf-inspired crust that makes it look almost too pretty to eat.

At about 3½ inches across, these are genuinely miniature pies, not ordinary slices cut smaller. That size is part of the appeal: one can disappear beside a latte without turning your coffee break into a full dessert occasion.

Apple Crumble Is Already Getting Attention

Of the three flavors, the apple version seems to have created the biggest early buzz.

Customer reactions have been particularly enthusiastic about the combination of buttery crust, apples, and crumble topping, with some fans already imagining ways to dress the little pie up even further. Fan reactions to Starbucks’ Mini Pies show how quickly the seasonal pastries caught people’s attention.

A recent taste test also put Apple Crumble ahead of the other two flavors, praising the contrast between the soft apple filling and crunchy topping. That combination has an obvious advantage: it tastes like the kind of homemade fall dessert people already know, only packaged conveniently enough to eat with a coffee.

Pecan Brings the Richness

If apple feels cozy, pecan pie is for people who want their fall dessert a little more indulgent.

The Pecan Mini Pie features a buttery, sweet filling with toasted nutty notes inside a flaky golden crust. It has the familiar richness associated with pecan pie. Still, its miniature size makes the dessert feel considerably less intimidating than sitting down with a huge slice after a heavy meal.

That is probably part of Starbucks’ strategy here. A full pecan pie is a commitment; a tiny one is an impulse purchase. You can have a sweet bite with your afternoon coffee and move on with your day.

Pumpkin Gets the Prettiest Crust

Pumpkin may be the most predictable flavor, but Starbucks gave it the most obvious visual flourish.

The Pumpkin Mini Pie features creamy pumpkin filling and fall spices beneath a decorative leaf-shaped crust. Cinnamon and nutmeg bring the expected seasonal aroma, though early reviews note the flavor doesn’t necessarily taste exactly like the traditional pumpkin pie people might expect from Thanksgiving.

That could actually work in its favor. Pumpkin desserts have become so familiar during autumn that even a slight difference gives customers something new to talk about.

The $2.95 Price Makes Them Easy to Try

The miniature size and relatively modest starting price make these pies especially suited to spontaneous ordering.

Food Republic included the Starbucks Mini Pies among its notable new fast-food menu items arriving in October, highlighting the pies as one of the season’s newer limited-time treats. At $2.95 to start, trying one doesn’t require the same commitment as ordering a large bakery dessert, though prices may vary by location.

Depending on the flavor and location, you can also warm the pies, which changes the experience considerably. A warm apple or pecan filling alongside a hot coffee suddenly feels less like a packaged pastry and more like a miniature café dessert.

And that little ritual fits nicely with simple everyday habits, making an ordinary afternoon feel a bit more enjoyable without requiring anything complicated.

Which Mini Pie Deserves the Crown?

Three flavors mean Starbucks has quietly created a tiny fall dessert competition.

Apple Crumble has the strongest early fan momentum, Pecan is the richer choice for serious dessert lovers, and Pumpkin remains the obvious pick for anyone who wants that unmistakable autumn flavor. The taste test of the three Mini Pies gives Apple Crumble the edge, but personal preference will probably decide this one.

What makes the launch fun is that these pies are not trying to replace Grandma’s Thanksgiving dessert. They are much smaller and much more casual. They are designed for that moment when you are already holding a coffee and suddenly realize that a tiny piece of fall sounds pretty good.

And if discovering new foods is part of your everyday routine, surprising superfoods remind us that small changes to what we eat can make familiar days more interesting.
