KFC Is Handing Out Free Food Daily Until Oct. 31: Here Are the Rules

Spread the love

KFC is rolling out a new deal every day through Halloween, but there is an important catch: the chain is not giving away free food every day.

The “13 Days of Scary Good Deals” promotion runs from October 19 through October 31 and includes several free-food offers, along with discounted and fixed-price deals. To claim free items, customers must meet purchase requirements and use KFC Rewards through the KFC app or website.

That makes the promotion worth watching for bargain hunters, but the rules change from day to day.

KFC Rewards members can get the limited-time promotion at participating restaurants. Customers need to check the offer for the specific day they plan to order because the promotion does not use the same deal throughout the 13 days.

Some days bring a free menu item with a qualifying purchase. Other days simply reduce the price of selected food or offer a set-price meal.

The offers also do not carry over. If a customer misses a deal on its listed date, it cannot simply be saved for another day.

The rules before you order

There are a few steps customers need to follow before expecting a promotional item to appear in their order.

First, customers need to join or sign in to KFC Rewards. The daily offer must then be checked through the KFC app or website, where customers can select a participating restaurant.

For free-food promotions, the required minimum purchase matters. Some free items require a $5 purchase, while others require a $10 purchase.

The promotion applies to orders placed through KFC’s digital channels. Third-party delivery platforms do not qualify for these offers.

Customers should also make sure they are using the offer on the correct date because each promotion is tied to a specific day.

Which days offer free food

Several of the 13 days include an item at no additional cost when customers meet the required purchase.

October 19: Customers can get a free Classic Chicken Sandwich with a $5 minimum purchase.

October 20: A free serving of wedges or fries is available with a $5 minimum purchase.

October 22: Customers can receive free two-piece bone-in chicken with a $10 minimum purchase.

October 26: Get a free pot pie with a $10 minimum purchase.

October 27: Customers can get a free Famous Bowl with a $10 minimum purchase.

October 29: A free Snacker is available with a $5 minimum purchase.

Pay particular attention to these dates if your goal is to claim food at no additional cost. The required purchase still applies, so these are not unrestricted giveaways.

The other days are deals, not giveaways

The remaining dates feature discounts or set-price offers instead of free food.

October 21: Two Snackers are available for $4.

October 23: Customers can get 40 percent off a five-piece Tenders Combo.

October 24: KFC is offering a Chicken and Nugget Meal at a set price.

October 25: An eight-piece Tenders Meal is available at a set price.

October 28: Customers can get 10 wings for $10.

October 30: A 12-piece chicken-only bucket is 50 percent off.

October 31: Customers can get 50 KFC Nuggets for $20.

That distinction is important because the promotion’s name may make the entire 13-day run sound like a free-food event. In reality, customers get a mixture of free-with-purchase offers, discounts, and fixed-price deals.

Local availability still matters

The promotion is limited to participating KFC restaurants, so customers should not assume that every location will offer every deal.

The easiest way to check is to open the KFC app or website, sign in to KFC Rewards, and select the restaurant where the order will be placed. The available promotion can then be checked for that location.

That extra step can help customers avoid planning around a deal that is not available at their selected restaurant.

The promotion also does not have a single price or redemption rule that applies to every day. Customers should check the specific offer before placing an order, particularly when a minimum purchase is required.

The Halloween deal schedule is date-specific

For anyone planning ahead, the free offers fall on October 19, 20, 22, 26, 27, and 29. The other dates feature the promotional meals, discounts, or set-price offers listed above.

The promotion runs through October 31, but that does not mean every offer remains available throughout the entire period. Each deal belongs to its listed date.

KFC’s “13 Days of Scary Good Deals” gives Rewards members several ways to save during the Halloween season, but customers need to pay attention to the fine print. Some days bring free food with a qualifying purchase, while others simply offer a lower or fixed price.
