10 Walmart Grocery Finds for October, From 97 Cents to $26.56

Spread the love

October grocery shopping comes with plenty of temptation, from pumpkin-flavored treats and Halloween candy to easy comfort foods for cooler nights. But with food prices still expected to climb this year, shoppers have another reason to pay closer attention to what goes into the cart.

According to the USDA Economic Research Service’s September 2026 forecast, overall food prices are expected to rise 2.9% in 2026. Food eaten at home is forecast to rise 2.4%, while food-away-from-home prices are expected to rise even more sharply, at 3.5%. For families already watching their grocery bills, affordable seasonal finds and genuine markdowns are especially welcome.

Fortunately, Walmart has several October grocery picks that mix low-cost snacks, fall flavors, Halloween essentials, and pantry upgrades. From a 97-cent bag of tortilla chips to a $26.56 six-pack of SkinnyPop, these 10 finds give shoppers a few ways to enjoy the season without letting every autumn impulse buy blow up the grocery budget.

It is increasingly hard to find much at the grocery store for less than a dollar, which makes this little bag stand out.

Walmart currently lists the 2.5-ounce Great Value Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips for 97 cents, or 38.8 cents per ounce. It is clearly not a family-size bag, but for a lunchbox, road-trip snack or quick craving, the price is hard to argue with.

Kinder Chocolate, $1.27

The original tip suggested Kinder Chocolate could fall to 97 cents after Walmart Cash, but the deal has changed.

As of October, Walmart lists the 1.8-ounce package of four individually wrapped Kinder Chocolate bars at $1.27, reduced from $1.72. That is a 45-cent markdown without requiring a separate cash-back offer.

It could be a handy low-cost addition to a candy bowl without committing to one of the enormous Halloween bags taking over store shelves this month.

Great Value Pumpkin Roll Sandwich Cookies, $2.97

Pumpkin season eventually comes for the cookie aisle, too.

Walmart’s Great Value Twist & Shout Double Filled Pumpkin Roll Sandwich Cookies come in a 15.25-ounce package and are currently listed at $2.97. Walmart describes them as pumpkin sandwich cookies with cream cheese-flavored crème filling.

They are the kind of seasonal grocery find that makes sense precisely because October doesn’t last forever.

Great Value Powdered Sugar Mini Donuts, $4.67

For busy mornings, lunch packing, or when everyone wants a snack at once, individually packed foods can help.

Walmart lists Great Value Powdered Sugar Mini Donuts in a 10-count package for $4.67. Each individual package is 2 ounces.

That works out to roughly 47 cents per snack pack, making this one of the more practical buys on the list if convenience matters as much as price.

One correction before you go hunting through the freezer aisle: this ravioli is sold under Walmart’s bettergoods brand, not Great Value.

The 18-ounce Pumpkin and Sage Ravioli costs $5.47, or about 30 cents per ounce. Walmart’s current listing puts it alongside other bettergoods varieties such as sweet potato Gruyère and truffle mushroom ravioli.

For an October dinner that feels a little more seasonal than the usual spaghetti, this may be the most interesting find of the bunch.

The Matzo Project Salted Matzo Chips, $7.13

Game-day snacks don’t all have to begin and end with tortilla chips.

Walmart currently lists a 6-ounce bag of The Matzo Project Salted Matzo Chips for $7.13. The retailer describes them as kosher, vegan, and nut-free.

They are definitely one of the pricier snacks by weight here, but they offer something different for a dip board or weekend spread.

Fly By Jing Xtra Spicy Sichuan Chili Crisp, $9.98

The supplied deal claimed this could drop to $7.48 with Walmart Cash. I could verify the product, but not that current cash-back offer.

Walmart presently lists the 6-ounce Fly By Jing Xtra Spicy Sichuan Chili Crisp for $9.98, or $1.66 per ounce.

A jar can stretch across plenty of meals, from noodles and rice to dumplings and eggs, so this is less of an impulse snack and more of a pantry upgrade.

M&M’s, Skittles & More Halloween Variety Pack, $19.87

If your neighborhood attracts an army of trick-or-treaters, the tiny candy bags disappear surprisingly fast.

Walmart currently lists a 120-count M&M’s, Skittles & More Fun Size Halloween Candy Variety Pack for $19.87. The bag is listed at roughly 47 ounces, or about 42 cents per ounce.

October is exactly when buying candy in bulk makes more sense than grabbing several smaller bags.

Snickers, Twix, Milky Way & 3 Musketeers Halloween Assortment, $19.87

Chocolate households have another option at the same price.

Walmart lists a 150-count assortment of Snickers, Twix, Milky Way and 3 Musketeers Minis for $19.87.

That gives shoppers a simple choice: go with the mixed fruity-and-chocolate assortment or go all-in on chocolate.

SkinnyPop Original Popcorn 6-Pack, $26.56

The biggest purchase on the list may also make the most sense for households that go through popcorn quickly.

Walmart currently has a six-pack of 8-ounce SkinnyPop Original Popcorn bags for $26.56, marked down from $32.82. That is a savings of $6.26, or about 19% off the previous listed price.

Split across six family-size bags, the sale price comes to about $4.43 per bag, making it easier to stash some away for movie nights, game days, and school snacks.
