Bridgewater Family Escapes Roger Avenue House Fire as Neighbors Step In
BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, N.J. ,Two residents escaped safely after a house fire broke out Sunday morning on Roger Avenue in the Martinsville section of Bridgewater Township, with neighbors helping them before firefighters arrived.
The residential fire was reported shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, according to available incident information. When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the home’s second floor.
The two people inside the home had already made it outside by the time emergency crews arrived. Officials said neighbors assisted the residents after they escaped.
No injuries were reported among the residents or responding firefighters.

The moments before firefighters arrived remain unclear, but officials confirmed that nearby residents helped after the two occupants escaped the burning home.

Rescue support came from Martinsville Rescue Squad, Far Hills Rescue Squad, and Bradley Gardens Rescue Squad, along with Somerset County Fire Coordinators and Bridgewater Police.
Fire crews arrived to find an active second-floor fire with visible flames. Officials have not released the number of firefighters involved, the equipment used, or the time the fire was brought under control.
Family Receives Emergency Assistance
The fire displaced the two-person household, which received assistance from the American Red Cross of New Jersey.
The organization provided temporary lodging, food, clothing, and other immediate support following the incident.
The extent of damage to the home has not been released. Officials have not confirmed whether the property suffered minor damage, major damage, or a complete loss.
