Trader Joe’s Is Opening New Stores in 6 Southern States: See the Locations

A new Trader Joe’s can change your weekly grocery routine, especially when your nearest location requires a special trip. But before you grab your shopping bags and head toward a newly announced address, check whether the doors are actually open.

Across Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Texas and Virginia, the chain’s expansion includes stores already serving customers and locations still awaiting their first shoppers. Some announcements describe completed openings; others confirm an address without providing a date.

As of November 2, 2026, these locations are at different stages. “Coming Soon” does not guarantee an opening before December 31, and Boynton Beach has been reported as a 2027 arrival. Maryland appears here under the Census Bureau’s definition of the South. Here is where things stand, state by state.

Florida: Several Addresses to Watch

Florida’s list combines three upcoming stores with an operating West Palm Beach location. In Orlando, the confirmed address is 1444 North Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL 32828. Local reporting identifies it as an upcoming store without an announced opening date. It is separate from the existing Dr. Phillips location on Sand Lake Road.

Sarasota’s upcoming store is at 8199 S. Tamiami Trail, Unit 100, Sarasota, FL 34231. Its official listing says “Coming Soon.” October reporting documented construction and installed signage, although an opening date remained unannounced.

Boynton Beach shoppers have a confirmed address at 334 N. Congress Ave., Unit B, Boynton Beach, FL 33426. Trader Joe’s lists it as “Coming Soon,” while TCPalm reported an expected 2027 opening. No specific opening date has been announced.

Meanwhile, 8111 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach, FL 33405, is already operating. Local reporting places its opening on June 12, 2026. The takeaway: West Palm Beach is ready for a visit; the other addresses still require an opening announcement.

Georgia: Johns Creek Is Already Open

The Johns Creek store at 1000 Medley Blvd., Johns Creek, GA 30097, is welcoming shoppers. Trader Joe’s official directory confirms its address and operating status.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported a June 11 opening, and later coverage confirmed the store began operating in June.

That was months before the surrounding Medley development celebrated its October 29 debut. If recent headlines about Medley made the grocery store sound newly opened, that timing is worth clarifying. Trader Joe’s was already serving customers before the broader development’s launch.

Georgia also has another announcement to follow. WJBF reported in October that Trader Joe’s confirmed plans for an Evans store. However, the report did not establish a construction or opening timeline.

Because the supplied reporting did not include a verified street address, Evans remains outside this address guide. Johns Creek offers the clearer answer for shoppers planning an immediate visit.

Louisiana: Three Stores Have Opened

Louisiana’s expansion includes three locations that have moved beyond the announcement stage: Mandeville: 3377 U.S. Highway 190, Mandeville, LA 70471; New Orleans: 2428 Napoleon Ave., New Orleans, LA 70115; Lafayette: 1710 Camellia Blvd., Lafayette, LA 70508.

Trader Joe’s directory identifies these stores as operating. Lafayette’s official page confirms its address, and the company’s announcement feed identified it as open in September.  That matters when searching for information. Earlier articles discussing the chain’s 2026 plans may still describe these locations as upcoming, even though shoppers can now visit.

The New Orleans address also deserves attention. The Napoleon Avenue store is separate from the location at 2501 Tulane Ave., which opened in August 2025.

For these three destinations, the next useful step is to check current hours. No need to wait for another construction update or announcement.

Maryland: Baltimore’s Anneslie Store Is Coming Soon

Trader Joe’s confirms an upcoming location at 6311 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212, listed as Baltimore–Anneslie. Its official page still says “Coming Soon.” The Baltimore Banner reported in July that the store would occupy the former Party City space at Anneslie Shopping Center, near the city–county line.

The publication also quoted spokesperson Nakia Rohde, who explained that stores typically appear on the company’s website three to six months before opening. That describes a general practice, not a binding schedule.

It would therefore be premature to calculate a guaranteed opening day from the listing’s appearance. For nearby shoppers, the address is confirmed. The calendar date is still missing.

Texas: Three Upcoming Stores and One Open Location

Texas shoppers have three confirmed upcoming addresses: Bellaire: 5130 Bellaire Blvd., Suite 100, Bellaire, TX 77401; Cedar Park: 1800 E. Whitestone Blvd., Cedar Park, TX 78613; Mansfield: 1580 E. Debbie Lane, Mansfield, TX 76063.

Their official listings list them as coming soon, with no firm opening dates. Bellaire’s page confirms that pending status.

McKinney–West, at 8101 Eldorado Parkway, McKinney, TX 75070, is already operating following its reported May 7 opening. It adds a second McKinney location alongside the Craig Drive store.

Virginia: Virginia Beach Has Another Option

The store at 220 Constitution Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, is open. Trader Joe’s lists daily hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. February 6 coverage identified it as the city’s second location, alongside Hilltop Plaza.

Before driving to any newly announced store, check its official listing. An address confirms the destination; an opening announcement tells you when to bring your bags.
