South Carolina Gets Its First Shake Shack as North Charleston Location Opens Today
Shake Shack has opened its first South Carolina restaurant, bringing the chain’s first location in the state to North Charleston on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The new restaurant is located at Tanger Outlets Charleston, giving shoppers a new food option at the shopping center.
The Shake Shack restaurant is located at 4840 Tanger Outlet Blvd., Suite 791, North Charleston, SC 29418, near Abercrombie & Fitch. The restaurant’s public opening was scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, with regular hours set for 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
The roughly 3,500-square-foot restaurant marks the chain’s first South Carolina location. A ribbon-cutting was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. ahead of the public opening.
At the new North Charleston location, the menu includes Shake Shack staples such as the ShackBurger, crinkle-cut fries, and hand-spun milkshakes.
Opening-Day Promotions
The opening day also included limited-time promotions tied specifically to the Sept. 23 debut. The first wave of guests was set to receive custom South Carolina-themed Shake Shack cold cups while supplies lasted. Gift card giveaways were also part of the opening-day activities.
In addition to the opening-day promotions, Shake Shack said it would support a local nonprofit through a one-day donation effort. The company planned to donate $1 for every sandwich sold on Sept. 23 at the North Charleston opening to the Lowcountry Food Bank, a Charleston-area nonprofit that works to expand access to food across its service region.
Scheduled Ribbon Cutting
The scheduled ribbon-cutting event included North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess, Charlie T. RiverDog, and Cool Ray, the South Carolina Stingrays mascot, as planned participants. The ribbon-cutting was scheduled before the restaurant opened to the public.
The new restaurant gives residents and visitors in North Charleston a local location to visit for Shake Shack menu items at Tanger Outlets Charleston. The restaurant is open daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. at 4840 Tanger Outlet Blvd., Suite 791.
