Aldi Is Putting Pickles on Pizza and Chicken Caesar Is Crashing Pizza Night, Too

Aldi is taking frozen pizza in two wildly different directions this month: one pie comes loaded with dill pickles and ham, while the other turns Chicken Caesar salad flavors into dinner. Both are set to arrive as Aldi Finds on Oct. 21, giving shoppers a chance to test-drive two of the chain’s more unusual pizza ideas before the freezer aisle moves on to its next surprise.

The new releases are Mama Cozzi’s Big Dill Ham and Dill Pickle Pizza and Mama Cozzi’s Chicken Caesar Pizza, with both expected to sell for $6.99. They first appeared as special pizzas tied to the 2026 Uber One Super Bowl kickoff event, and Aldi is now bringing them to stores more widely after the limited promotion.

The Pickle Pizza Is Not Playing It Safe

The Big Dill Ham and Dill Pickle Pizza doesn’t just scatter a few pickle coins over a regular cheese pie and call it a trend. Aldi’s version starts with creamy dill sauce, then adds a four-cheese blend, julienned ham, dill pickle slices, and crushed red pepper. The result is designed around deli-style flavors: salty ham, tangy pickles, creamy sauce, and a little heat.

This combination makes more sense when you think beyond a traditional red-sauce pizza. Ham and pickles are familiar sandwich partners, while dill sauce and cheese can soften the pickle’s sharp, vinegary edge. Aldi has not published tasting notes that quantify the spice level or explain how prominent the pickles are after baking, so shoppers should use the listed ingredients as a reliable guide rather than assume it tastes like any other pickle-themed dish.

The pizza also lands during a pickle-forward month at Aldi. Its October Finds include Bremer Ranch Pickle Chips, which are breaded pickle slices with a ranch-flavored coating, arriving earlier in the month for $6.29. In other words, the pickle pizza is not a lonely stunt in the freezer section. It is part of an October lineup that suggests Aldi has noticed that shoppers are still ready to put dill pickles in places where dill pickles have traditionally not been invited.

Bridget Kozlowski, Aldi’s director of communications, tied the Big Dill pizza directly to that larger appetite. “The Big Dill taps into the pickle obsession we continue to see across food culture,” she said in Aldi’s announcement about the October Finds. That is the retailer’s own description of the food trend, not independent evidence that everyone is clamoring for pickle pizza. Still, it explains why Aldi brought the item back after its Super Bowl promotion.

Chicken Caesar Is Taking the Pizza Route

The Chicken Caesar Pizza is the less pickle-heavy but no less unexpected half of Aldi’s October pizza news. Instead of tomato sauce, the product uses Caesar dressing and tops the crust with chicken breast, a four-cheese blend, and green onions. Aldi’s listings describe it as a Chicken Caesar Pizza, making the Caesar reference a flavor profile rather than a claim that shoppers are getting a complete Caesar salad baked into a crust.

That distinction matters because the product information does not list romaine lettuce among its key toppings. The available descriptions point to a pizza built around Caesar dressing, chicken, cheese, and green onions, not a piping-hot salad situation that may cause panic among traditionalists. It is still an unconventional pizza, but it is a much more concrete idea than the name alone might suggest.

The Chicken Caesar pie has also been described as “Blackened Chicken Caesar Pizza” in reporting about the original Super Bowl-related release. Aldi’s October grocery listings use “Mama Cozzi’s Chicken Caesar Pizza,” while Kozlowski referred to the earlier version as Blackened Chicken Caesar. Based on those published descriptions, the safest conclusion is that the October product is being marketed as Chicken Caesar Pizza, with chicken, Caesar dressing, cheese, and green onions confirmed as the central components.

Kozlowski said the Blackened Chicken Caesar pizza “takes cues from the ‘girl dinner’ trend.” That phrase is Aldi’s marketing shorthand, not a nutritional promise or a suggestion that pizza should stand in for every kind of meal. What is clear is that the product borrows an extremely recognizable salad flavor and moves it into an easy freezer format, an option for shoppers who want something beyond pepperoni without assembling dressing, chicken, cheese, and a separate dinner from scratch.

These Pizzas Began as a Super Bowl Test

Aldi and supplier Great Kitchens created both the Big Dill and Blackened Chicken Caesar pizzas for the 2026 Uber One Super Bowl kickoff event. They were initially special-event items, then earned a broader Aldi Finds rollout after the retailer saw consumer interest. The October release matters because it gives shoppers outside that promotion their first clear chance to buy the pizzas at regular Aldi stores.

“When our fans get excited about something, we take notice,” Kozlowski said of the decision to expand the pizzas’ availability. “These two pizza flavors were a huge hit during the Super Bowl, and it was clear they deserved a larger audience.” Her comments explain the retailer’s decision, though shoppers should remember that popularity during a promotional event does not automatically make an item permanent.

That is because these are Aldi Finds, the retailer’s rotating selection of limited-time products. Aldi has not made the pickle or Chicken Caesar pizza a year-round freezer staple, and availability can vary by location. If you’re genuinely curious, look for them around the Oct. 21 rollout date rather than weeks later, especially if local stores sell through their allocation quickly.

At $6.99 each, both pizzas sit among Aldi’s headline-grabbing October Finds, alongside other seasonal and limited-run products such as Halloween-shaped pizzas, frozen beignets, canned oat-milk lattes, and a ready-to-heat Thanksgiving Bake. The dill pickle pizza is the obvious conversation starter, but the Chicken Caesar option may be the sleeper hit for anyone who likes creamy, savory pizza without red sauce. Either way, Aldi has made one thing clear: in October, the freezer aisle is not interested in behaving normally.
