Chipotle Brings Back Its Margaritas for a Limited Time With Halloween Pop-Up Tour

Spread the love

Chipotle fans who have missed the chain’s margaritas will soon have a chance to enjoy them again, but only for a limited time and at a handful of locations. The restaurant chain is bringing back its long-discontinued margarita as part of a Halloween-themed experience called the “Summon the Spirits Tour.” The pop-up series will visit five U.S. cities throughout October 2026, offering customers the chance to purchase the classic cocktail while enjoying themed decorations and interactive experiences.

The margarita’s return comes after years of fan requests and nostalgia for the beverage. Although Chipotle is widely known for burritos, bowls, tacos, and other Mexican-inspired menu items, the company also previously served margaritas at many of its restaurants. Fans have continued discussing the drink online, with some sharing memories and asking for its return.

Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s senior vice president of brand marketing, said the company chose Halloween to bring back the beverage because customers kept talking about it after it disappeared from menus. The company describes the comeback as an opportunity for fans to revisit a classic Chipotle offering made with a simple recipe.

A Five-Ingredient Classic Returns

The returning Chipotle Margarita follows the company’s simplified recipe featuring five ingredients. The drink includes premium tequila, triple sec, citrus juice, agave nectar, and a fresh lime wedge. Chipotle has highlighted the recipe’s straightforward ingredients as part of the cocktail’s appeal.

During the “Summon the Spirits Tour,” customers can purchase the margarita for $6. Because the drink contains alcohol, it will only be available to customers who are 21 years old or older.

The margarita’s return is a notable moment for longtime Chipotle customers who remember when alcoholic beverages were part of the restaurant experience. Chipotle introduced margaritas in 1993 and later adjusted the recipe in 2013 to a five-ingredient version before eventually removing the drink from most locations.

Five Cities, Five Halloween Experiences

Instead of returning nationwide, the margarita comeback will take place through a traveling pop-up event. The “Summon the Spirits Tour” will stop at one Chipotle restaurant in each of five cities during October weekends. Each location will feature a dedicated margarita bar, Halloween-themed decorations, interactive activities, and opportunities to unlock Chipotle prizes.

The tour begins in Denver, Colorado, the city where Chipotle was founded. The first stop, called “Where the Spirit Began,” will take place on October 2 and October 3 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time at 2760 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, Colorado 80222.

The second stop moves to New York. The Brooklyn event, titled “Spirits in the City,” will take place on October 9 and October 10 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time at 185 Montague St., Brooklyn, New York 11201.

The third stop will be in Dallas, Texas, with an event called “Where Spirits Freeze.” The Dallas stop will take place on October 16 and October 17 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time at 2401 Victory Park Lane, Dallas, Texas 75219. In addition to the original Chipotle Margarita, this location will offer a frozen margarita option.

The tour will then continue to Los Angeles. The Hollywood-area stop, named “Summon the Stars,” will be held on October 23 and October 24 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time at 7660 W. Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, California 90046.

The final stop will take place in New Orleans during Halloween weekend. Called “Where Spirits Never Rest,” the event will run on October 30 and October 31 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time at 2801 Magazine St., New Orleans, Louisiana 70115.

A Limited Return for a Nostalgic Favorite

While the tour gives fans a chance to enjoy the margarita again, the comeback is currently limited to the five scheduled locations. Customers outside those cities will not have access to the pop-up events unless Chipotle announces additional availability.

The return reflects a broader interest among restaurant brands in bringing back popular past menu items. Companies across the food industry have increasingly used nostalgic offerings and limited-time releases to reconnect with longtime customers. Chipotle’s margarita revival follows this trend by giving fans a chance to revisit a product many remember fondly.

For Chipotle, the “Summon the Spirits Tour” combines two themes: the nostalgia surrounding the margarita and the seasonal excitement of Halloween. The events are designed not only around the drink itself but also around creating a themed experience with decorations, activities, and prizes.

Boorito Returns for Halloween

Alongside the margarita tour, Chipotle is also preparing to bring back its annual Boorito Halloween tradition on October 31. The company has confirmed that the promotion will include an in-restaurant entrée offer, with additional details expected later in October.

For margarita fans hoping to relive a piece of Chipotle history, the “Summon the Spirits Tour” offers a short window to try the drink again. With stops limited to Denver, New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New Orleans, customers interested in experiencing the return will need to visit one of the participating locations during the scheduled October weekends.
