Easy Tuna Melt Sandwich

You can’t go wrong with a tuna melt sandwich. It’s perfect when you need something for lunch or a quick yet hearty dinner. This recipe uses canned tuna, mayonnaise, mustard and herbs. It’s so easy to make that you can’t help but love it and add it to your weekly menu. Here’s a simple recipe you can make in a matter of minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 can of tuna, drained (5 oz)
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons red onion, finely chopped
- 3 small kosher dill pickles
- 4 slices of bread
- 2 slices of cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 2-3 minutes
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped celery, red onion, chopped dill pickles, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the tuna mixture on 2 slices of bread.
- Add a slice of cheddar cheese to each bread.
- Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and broil on low until the cheese is melted and bubbly about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and slice the sandwiches in half.
It is best served with chips.
