Homemade Italian Seasoning

Making your own Italian seasoning is easy: it takes a few minutes and uses spices you probably already have.

Instead of buying another jar, you can mix a blend that actually fits your cooking style. Adjust it as you go, add more of what you use most, and keep it on hand for regular meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Dried Basil
  • 2 Tablespoons Dried Parsley
  • 2 Tablespoons Dried Oregano
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Thyme
  • 1 Tablespoon Marjoram 
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Rosemary

Mason Jar or spice jar

Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients: basil, parsley, oregano, thyme, marjoram, and rosemary in a jar.
  2. Close the jar and shake it well to mix everything thoroughly.
  3. Label the seasoning so you know what’s inside.

Variations to Recipe

If you’re a fan of garlic or onion, feel free to add a teaspoon of garlic powder and onion powder for an extra depth of flavor.

Consider adding about half a teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of heat in your homemade Italian seasoning.
