Retraction and Correction: The Italian Homemade Company Was Not Ordered Closed

The Italian Homemade Company was never ordered closed by SFDPH and remained open and operating throughout the period referenced in the article.
The inaccurate report originated from an erroneous designation in SFDPH’s public inspection database. Under certain circumstances, the system may automatically display a facility as having a “closure” status when a major violation is not separately marked as corrected on-site, even when the issue was addressed immediately.
During the inspection in question, two violations involving food cooling procedures and dishwasher sanitization were identified. Both issues were corrected on-site that same day. SFDPH subsequently confirmed that the restaurant had not been ordered closed and corrected its public record.
Easy Everyday Recipes regrets the error and formally retracts its previous statement that The Italian Homemade Company was shut down or ordered closed.
