Shirley Temple Memories

I can remember watching Shirley Temple movies when I was about 7 or 8 and being enamored by her curls.

I had long light brown hair and while it wasn’t blonde like hers, I wanted it to look like hers…curly.

Seeing as I was the baby of the family, my mom would do pretty much do anything that I asked, lol.

And although I hated the process with a passion, I loved the way my hair looked when finished.

Can you guess how my mom did my hair??? RAGS!

My mother would have thin strips of rags that I’d have to hold at the top and she would twirl my hair around it.

Then she would twist it up and bobby pin it at the top and I’d sleep in them.

I had the most beautiful curly hair the following day.

And when it comes to having a Shirley Temple Mocktail, they were few and far between as we didn’t go out to eat often back then.
