How to Make Hawaiian Pineapple Rollups
Spread the cream cheese evenly over the top of each tortilla. You can use any type of tortillas such as corn or flour, but we’ve used traditional white flour tortillas.
Top with crushed pineapple and spread evenly over the cream cheese. Spread the evenly onto each tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
Arrange the ham slices around the top of each tortilla.
Start rolling up each tortilla tightly to form a long pinwheel.
Place these rolls seam-side down on a plate and refrigerate for an hour, or until firm.
After about an hour, take the pinwheels out of the refrigerator and slice them into pieces.
Arrange your pinwheel slices attractively on a serving plate, and there you go!
Notes from the Kitchen
These Pinwheels can be eaten on their own or served with a dipping sauce of your choice.
Sweet chili sauce, honey mustard, or aioli make great complements to the flavors of the Hawaiian Pinwheels.
Tips to Take Your Pinwheels to the Next Level
- Use flavored tortillas instead of plain ones for an extra layer of savory goodness.
- Toast the tortillas in a pan before adding the ingredients for added texture and flavor.
- Try using sliced turkey or chicken instead of ham for a different flavor and texture.
- Add a sprinkle of chopped green onions on top for a bit of crunch and color.
- If you’re feeling adventurous, try adding a bit of sriracha or hot sauce to the cream cheese and pineapple mixture for a spicy kick.
